Billie M. Hilliard

Billie M. Hilliard is the president and CEO of Billie 1979 Designs, L.L.C.  She was educated at Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas, where she majored in Fine Arts.  As a Fine Arts major, Billie took courses in photography, dance, art history, fashion and jewelry design.  While in college, Billie modeled for Neiman Marcus, United Colors of Benetton and well-known fashion designer Selven O’Keefe Jarmon at many venues in the local Houston fashion scene.  Although she enjoyed modeling, design also captured her heart.  Billie learned pattern making, texture, textiles, color, improved sewing techniques and raw design.  She also began to experiment with designing jewelry and making purses for her personal use.  She wore her designs and received continuous inquiries from the public about where she bought her jewelry.  It was not long after Billie began to realize that her natural talent and abilities for creating needed to be more focused.  Billie realized that she had to pursue her dream of launching her own Fashion House.  Determined to fulfill a life long dream of owning her own business and giving back to the community, she knew it was time to share her distinctly different fashion accessory designs with the world.  In 2008, she launched her fashion jewelry accessory line, Billie 1979 Designs.  Now, you can find Billie 1979 Designs in boutiques in Houston, Dallas, Atlanta and at billie1979.com
